The napa cabbage is a traditional symbol of luck and fortune in Chinese culture. Because it’s name, bai cai, is homophonous with the Chinese words for “hundred” and “wealth”, it is believed to bring prosperity and fortune to those that possess it.

This statue features a beautiful green and white napa cabbage laying on an ornate base with a grasshopper (itself a symbol of longevity, luck and fertility) perched on top.
